2021 Spain International Logistics & Material Handling Exhibition Set for Barcelona, June 1–3: Supply Chain and Packaging Equipment Highlights

[Event Overview]

Held once a year, the show dates back to 1998 and reaches its 22nd successful edition in 2021. Within Europe and the Mediterranean, it is regarded as a ** international logistics exhibition. Its coverage extends across the entire logistics supply chain, from transport, logistics, distribution and intralogistics to storage, supply chain and new technologies.

The previous edition covered 22,000 square meters and welcomed more than 600 exhibiting companies from over 50 countries and regions, along with over 50,000 professional visitors. By exhibitor category, 47% were transport, logistics, distribution and logistics-service companies; 31% were intralogistics, storage and equipment firms; and 22% were IT solution providers. Among visitors, 89% were senior executives or project decision-makers.

Barcelona is Spain's ** industrial center, generating about 40% of the country's import and export trade. It is home to the Mediterranean coast's ** comprehensive port and ** container distribution terminal. Growing international trade and new market expansion have pushed the Port of Barcelona to keep expanding and upgrading its infrastructure. Each year, 8,000 vessels enter the port (40 million tons in total tonnage); annual throughput reaches 20 million tons; and annual container throughput is 5 million TEU, with China-related container business accounting for more than 30%. To fully use the European common market, the port and inland transport are linked through multimodal connections involving ports, airports, railways and road networks, improving cargo transshipment efficiency and helping the Port of Barcelona maintain a ** position in Europe's highly competitive market. The exhibition serves as a major logistics platform for entering Europe and the Mediterranean, and as a bridge for logistics exchange among Latin America, Africa and Asia.
