CIPI 2020 Qingdao Packaging Expo Nears Launch: Smart Packaging and Bohai Rim Synergy in the Spotlight

Following the close of the Two Sessions, national authorities continued to back enterprises in returning to work and production, rolling out supportive measures to modernize industrial chains, implement the “six stabilizations” and “six guarantees,” accelerate recovery in exhibitions, infrastructure and other sectors, and steadily restore the livelihood economy.

Opening on schedule with clear government backing

As convention cities across China restart their event calendars, CIPI 2020 Qingdao International Packaging Industry Exhibition is in its final preparatory sprint. As the first dedicated packaging show in the Bohai Rim in the second half of the year, it is seen as a key bellwether for restoring market confidence and spurring consumption, with landmark and demonstrative value; a rebound in exhibitions is also viewed as a sign of genuine market recovery.

Recently, following guidance from the Qingdao Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the show will take place at the Qingdao Hongdao International Conference & Exhibition Center (No. 326 Huoju Road, Chengyang District, Qingdao). It will cover six major segments, including smart packaging, food packaging, printing and packaging, pharmaceutical packaging and comprehensive packaging, bringing fresh momentum to northern China’s packaging sector and continuing to drive domestic packaging upgrades.

To encourage north-south industry integration and broaden the event’s reach, the Qingdao packaging exhibition has teamed up with multiple industry associations to jointly host the 2020 16th China Qingdao International Packaging Industry Exhibition, creating a trade and exchange platform for exhibitors.

Conference and exhibition working together

The second half of 2020 is viewed as a golden window for corporate marketing, making early planning especially important. The Bohai Rim is one of the three major economic circles in China’s printing and packaging industry and a vital engine for rapid growth, long holding a pivotal position. In this crucial half-year, the region is expected to play an even greater role. How to leverage regional strengths for horizontal alliances, scale up, and pursue out-of-region capacity cooperation and complementary advantages offers abundant opportunities and broad room for growth.

The conference will center on hot topics such as smart packaging application solutions, 5G applications in the packaging industry, digital solutions, AOI industrial intelligent applications and industrial innovation and upgrading, deepening technical innovation exchanges among China, Japan and South Korea. It is organized in three parts: sharing of macroeconomic and printing and packaging industry innovation solutions; a seminar focused on the printing and packaging industry in the Bohai Rim; and a seminar on new packaging materials and new printing technology applications. Together they will offer detailed interpretation of the Industry 4.0-oriented global industrial transformation and smart-packaging-driven innovation trends.

Over the five-day exhibition, forums and conferences on smart manufacturing, smart factories, printing and packaging and other themes will be held in succession, giving visitors a view of the industry’s future direction while they explore the show floor.

Since exhibitor recruitment began, the Qingdao packaging exhibition has drawn registrations from many first-tier domestic and international packaging suppliers in food processing machinery, food machinery supporting equipment, testing equipment, marking and labeling equipment, and printing equipment. They will bring more new products, technologies and highlights, attracting broad attention from packaging companies.

On site, the event will offer one-stop services for equipment supply chains and supporting equipment, making participation worry-free for companies and visits more convenient for attendees.

To showcase the packaging industry’s latest achievements and expand international exchange and cooperation, this Qingdao packaging exhibition will stage a new product and new technology launch event. Many companies will present a wide range of models, using live explanations and demonstrations to help visitors quickly learn about the newest packaging developments.
