Beijing Quality Association Printing Branch Sets 2013 Direction: Digital, Green and Quality Development in Parallel

Printing occupies a central place in the cultural sector. In this new era, publishing and printing work face both opportunities and difficult issues; only by planning ahead can the industry identify a longer-term, practical route forward. Association work should follow the Scientific Outlook on Development, adopt a pragmatic approach, build on solid foundations and fully perform its bridge-and-link role. By guiding companies to deepen reform in green printing, transformation and upgrading, industrial restructuring and product quality, the association aims to help them meet market challenges. On that basis, the association will pursue the following tasks in 2013.

1. Digital publishing and digital printing are regarded as a key direction for China's future development and a strategic priority for the printing industry, and government support for their growth has increased. To make the connection between traditional publishing/printing and digital publishing/printing more logical, the association will bring together publishing house heads and printing company leaders for joint discussion and push the industry's digitalization forward.
2. Shift thinking and working style to serve member units better; respond to new changes and requirements in the printing industry under the new situation and strengthen industry service capacity; widen the association's information transmission network to share industry updates and promote corporate images, giving printing companies stronger support; create an information window for the printing industry and a platform for sharing print resources, so companies can pursue cooperation, mutual benefit and development together.
3. Together with the Beijing Printing Quality Inspection Station, continue the 'March 15' quality inspection campaign. The checks will focus on green printing, environmentally friendly printing, primary and secondary school textbooks and supplementary materials, edition books and albums from publication printing, and digital printed products.
4. In the current environment, organize responsible leaders, quality section chiefs and quality management cadres from member units for coaching, analysis and discussion on green printing certification, green printing standards, corporate energy saving and emission reduction, industrial restructuring and livelihood benefits, in order to identify solutions.
5. Invite experts to teach courses covering green printing concepts, green printing standards, green printing system development and related knowledge.
6. Keep running factory-association networking activities so that printing enterprises and publishing units can maintain closer contact and communication.
7. Strengthen the association's own development and broaden its work scope while continuously improving service capacity, service quality and service outcomes. Expand the member base, attract more companies to join, and boost the association's cohesion and influence.
8. Increase exchanges and learning with printing companies in other provinces and cities, helping enterprises broaden their horizons and thinking and raising their quality management standards and physical product quality.
9. Continue selection programs for quality management, advanced and up-to-standard enterprises, the Quality Grand Prize, product review, gold, silver and bronze awards, and the Changsheng Outstanding Quality Person Award, so as to improve corporate brand benefits and influence.
10. To meet the development needs of printing quality work, actively prepare for the re-election of the Beijing Printing Quality Association in line with the association's charter.

In 2012, under the care and guidance of higher-level departments and leaders, and through the joint efforts of colleagues, the Beijing Printing Quality Association worked together, completed its tasks well and achieved strong results. Facing new challenges in publishing and printing, we will keep working hard, fulfill the association's various functions and provide more services to support the sound and rapid development of Beijing's printing industry.
