August Data Signal Recovery: Shanying International's Domestic Paper Volume and Price Rise Together, Packaging ASP Hits New 2021 High

Shanying International has disclosed its August 2021 operating data flash report through an announcement.

The flash report shows that the company's domestic papermaking sales volume in August was 529,600 tonnes, up 13.20% year on year, with an average selling price of RMB 3,964.73 per tonne, up 14.22% year on year. Packaging sales for the month reached 172 million square metres, up 19.59% year on year, while the average selling price was RMB 3.78 per square metre, up 21.97% year on year.

Compared with July's brief decline, Shanying International's domestic papermaking business recorded month-on-month increases in both sales volume and price in August, and monthly paper sales moved back above 500,000 tonnes.

Sales volume and average prices in the domestic packaging business continued to post sharp month-on-month growth, with the average selling price reaching a new high for the year.

In early August, an editorial analysis noted that the domestic packaging business had begun to recover from July. As order volumes rose and inventories fell, the willingness to restock would strengthen, creating a market basis for higher raw paper prices in August. Shanying International's performance indicates a very clear market growth trend. According to research cited in the report, the substantial August growth in packaging business was driven not only by the traditional domestic Mid-Autumn Festival season but also importantly by the earlier start of the overseas double-holiday season. The gradual return to normal economic and social life in Europe and the United States, together with widespread concerns about shipping conditions, led overseas customers to place orders earlier than in previous years.

According to changes in market prices of important means of production in the circulation sector released by the National Bureau of Statistics, corrugated paper prices rose steadily in August and broke through the year's high set in March from mid-month onward.
