Self-Sufficiency Push: Lee & Man Paper Orders Two ANDRITZ Semi-Chemical Pulp Lines for Guangdong and Jiangxi, Start-Up Due End-2022

ANDRITZ has announced that Lee & Man Paper Manufacturing Limited will purchase production lines from the supplier and invest in one semi-chemical pulp line at each of its Guangdong Lee & Man and Jiangxi Lee & Man mills, with both lines scheduled to start up by the end of 2022.

Eucalyptus wood will feed both lines, yielding semi-chemical pulp — a grade that sits between kraft chemical pulp and mechanical pulp — and delivering high-quality fiber for industrial packaging papers such as corrugated paper and other grades.

ANDRITZ's highly efficient green liquor pulping process secures high-quality, high-yield pulp production and pairs optimally with a chemical pulp mill.

The main equipment on the two semi-chemical pulp lines brings the following technical advantages:

The ANDRITZ continuous cooking vessel is purpose-designed to suit the semi-chemical pulping route.

The medium-consistency blow-line refiner, model 1CP, refines cooked wood chips evenly while keeping specific energy consumption low.

The five-stage washing package — pairing a high-efficiency vacuum VT washer with the ANDRITZ screw press washer — keeps fiber loss to a minimum and drives harmful substance content down as far as possible.

ANDRITZ's scope of supply also covers basic engineering design, mechanical installation, and start-up and commissioning services for both lines.
