Pakistan Plastics Industry Grows 15% Annually as 16th International Plastic, Packaging & Printing Expo Returns to Karachi in 2020

The 16th Pakistan International Plastic, Packaging & Printing Exhibition 2020 is set to become a key focal point for South Asia’s plastic packaging and printing sectors.

The event will run from March 6 to 8, 2020.

It will take place in Karachi.

The exhibition profile covers plastic machinery and equipment, including injection molding machines, film blowing machines, plastic calenders, bottle blowing machines, plastic molding machines, plastic pelletizers, and plastic extruders.

Auxiliary plastic machinery on display includes mixers, dryers, feeding and recycling crushers, film drawing machines, foaming equipment, bag-making machines, and various electrical and electronic equipment.

The show also features machinery and equipment for recycling plastic products, along with plastic films, plastic laminates, plastic strips, polyester products, and other plastic items.

Plastic outer packaging machines and printing machines for food and beverages will be presented, together with rubber and plastic raw materials, chemical raw materials for processing, additives, auxiliaries, and auxiliary materials.

Rubber and plastics processing equipment, quality testing instruments, moulds and accessories, as well as industrial services, newspapers, and magazines related to plastic packaging and printing, will also be part of the exhibition.

This event is currently the largest plastics packaging industry exhibition in Pakistan and has been successfully held.

It is UFI-certified and is held once a year, rotating between Karachi and Lahore, two central cities in the south and north.

When it was held in Karachi, the exhibition attracted 250 exhibitors from 20 countries.

It also welcomed 16,000 professional visitors. After an interval of two years, the 2020 edition returns to Karachi.

The exhibition area is expected to reach 15,000 square meters.

It is expected to attract nearly 20,000 professional visitors from 25 countries.

Pakistan is the second-largest plastic packaging market in South Asia after India. In recent years, the country has seen significant growth in plastics, packaging, printing, and related industries.

Its plastics industry has been booming at an average annual growth rate of 15%.

Total production capacity is estimated at 62.42 billion tonnes per year.

The number of enterprises producing plastics has exceeded 6,000.

Per capita annual consumption of plastic products stands at 5.2 kilograms, while 70% of the country’s plastic raw materials rely on foreign imports.

In addition, almost all machinery and equipment used to manufacture various plastic, packaging, and printing products comes from imports.

Karachi is the largest city in Pakistan.

With a population of about 20 million, it is an important economic and cultural center of Pakistan.
