CIPPME 2019 Shanghai International Packaging Exhibition Concludes with 536 Exhibitors and 51,970 Professional Visitors

The 13th Shanghai International Packaging Exhibition (CIPPME 2019) wrapped up successfully at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center. Organized by Shanghai Hexin Exhibition Service Co., Ltd., it took place from August 14 to 16, 2019. The show floor covered 55,000 square meters and welcomed 536 exhibitors and 51,970 professional visitors from 38 countries and regions. The event's international influence was unmistakable. CIPPME 2019 received 18,360 visitors from overseas, while buyer numbers from Southeast Asia rose significantly, especially those from Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Professionals from these emerging markets joined visitors from traditional markets such as South Korea and Japan, along with major buyers from Western markets, creating a dynamic international scene at the show.

Overseas exhibitors reached a new high, particularly in advanced packaging materials and creative eco-friendly packaging products. The organizer also saw a notable increase in new domestic Chinese brands showcasing innovative products. This points to a shift in participation focus, from straightforward manufacturing to the high and new technologies that modern brands pursue.

The exhibition was divided by product category, with exhibits covering the entire packaging industry chain across seven major zones: packaging materials, packaging products, luxury packaging, e-commerce packaging and logistics packaging, food and catering takeaway packaging, packaging machinery, and intelligent packaging industry.

During the exhibition, several packaging new product launches made their global debut, and multinational groups held strategic internal meetings. Each day also provided opportunities for attendees to learn from and exchange ideas with peers from around the world.

As a concurrent event, the 14th International Packaging Industry Summit Forum was held the day before the exhibition. It set a record with nearly 1,200 participants, who gained exclusive perspectives on the latest trends in China's packaging market and engaged in in-depth exchanges with international opinion leaders.
