Cangnan Moves Printing Rectification into a New Phase with Long-Term Oversight and Tough Counterfeit Enforcement
As the year winds down, targeted enforcement in the printing industry is being rolled out across multiple regions. Wenzhou—a major packaging and printing center—is part of this wave, with Cangnan County deploying coordinated measures to maintain tough scrutiny of illegal printing and reproduction.
Cangnan County has recently set a long-term management mechanism as the goal of its printing industry rectification. The county is combining inspection and supervision, addressing both symptoms and root causes, and linking counterfeit crackdowns with support for quality enterprises. This multi-pronged approach is intended to curb and punish illegal printing and reproduction while safeguarding market order in the printing sector. Deputy County Head Lin Xiaotong attended the meeting. Last year, the county bolstered routine oversight of the printing market and launched special enforcement actions to target illegal business practices across the industry. During the year, 378 illegal printing cases were investigated and handled, down 16% year on year; more than 150 counterfeit-making dens were eliminated, down 25%; and 8 sales (wholesale) criminal gangs were dismantled, down 50%, as the incidence of illegal and criminal activity trended steadily downward.
Reports indicate that Cangnan’s printing rectification covers a broad area, carries a heavy workload, and poses significant difficulty, with the task of treating both symptoms and root causes remaining considerable. This year, the county will further strengthen rectification by adhering to multiple measures, innovating methods, focusing on key priorities, coordinating closely, and punishing strictly. Routine supervision and dragnet-style joint enforcement will be integrated with intelligence networks; the public will be broadly mobilized; information channels will be widened; and investigative methods will be improved to enhance the effectiveness and timeliness of the special rectification. Patrols and follow-up oversight will be reinforced for key townships and villages, key locations, and key enterprises. Counterfeit-making dens will be hit with devastating force; a number of illegal counterfeiting enterprises will be resolutely banned; and a number of counterfeit-related lawbreakers will be severely sanctioned.
Departments and townships must strengthen their coordination to establish a working environment in which each assumes its responsibilities, performs its duties, and participates in joint management, so that rectification is carried out effectively. Counterfeiting must be addressed with an iron fist: whenever problems are identified, businesses that should be closed will be closed, those that should be overhauled will be overhauled, and those that warrant criminal sentencing will be sentenced—without leniency or tolerance.
