China remains a major player in packaging production and consumption. Plastic packaging now accounts for more than 45% of the sector's total output value, serving as a key growth driver and playing an irreplaceable role across food, beverage, daily-use goods, and agricultural and industrial production. Rising demand from Chinese industrial products has accelerated the emergence of new plastic packaging materials, processes, technologies and products, helping the plastic packaging sector grow faster than the packaging industry as a whole. With revenue in the trillions of yuan, packaging has become a significant part of China's national economy.

Today plastic packaging reaches sectors ranging from electronics, food, beverages, alcohol, tea, cigarettes and pharmaceuticals to health products, cosmetics, small appliances, apparel, toys and sporting goods, making it indispensable in product packaging supply chains. Data from the China Packaging Federation for 2015 showed China's packaging industry output at roughly RMB 1.70 trillion, second globally, with projections putting the 2020 total at RMB 3 trillion.

This category covers blow molding, bottle blowing, injection molding, sealing, wrapping, vacuum packaging and aseptic packaging machinery; form-fill-seal, stretch wrapping, heat shrink and metering-filling equipment; and various gravure, flexographic, trademark, offset and rotary printing presses.
