When heat sealed, the laminated pouch creates a closed chamber. The seal edges and the spout weld together form the sealing boundary. At the specified temperature, the inner heat-seal layer melts and bonds securely to the spout material, while the outer layer provides the print surface and abrasion resistance. During bag making, the fill opening and spout must be oriented consistently so the filling machine can locate each pouch accurately.
