The pouch is created by heat-sealing a laminated film on three sides, leaving one edge open for filling before final closure. Aluminium foil contributes light blocking and barrier performance, while the metallized layer gives a lighter-weight light-blocking option. Both help shield active-ingredient formulas from light exposure. Because small pouches have a higher seal-to-panel ratio, heat-seal temperature and pressure must be tightly controlled — too strong a seal can be difficult to tear, while too weak a seal may leak.
