Zhejiang Provincial Postal Administration Deploys Green Packaging Transition, Aiming for "9917" and Plastic Governance

The Zhejiang Provincial Postal Administration recently organized a provincewide meeting on energy conservation and environmental protection for the postal and express delivery industry, along with the green transformation of express packaging. The session aimed to ensure that the "9917" project and other tasks, including plastic pollution control, are completed.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the province's overall first-half progress on the "9917" project and plastic pollution control, commented on distinctive environmental protection practices from selected enterprises, and received an explanation of the State Post Bureau's ecological and environmental protection evaluation indicators. The administration also redeployed environmental work for provincial-level major-brand delivery enterprises, setting key tasks such as establishing and implementing a unified procurement system, carrying out standardized packaging operation management, promoting circular reuse of express packaging, organizing environmental protection training, fulfilling plastic packaging governance responsibilities, and advancing energy-saving and emission-reduction green transport. Each delivery enterprise signed the "Commitment Letter of Zhejiang Province Brand Delivery Enterprises on Implementing the Main Responsibility of Enterprises for Industry Ecological and Environmental Protection."

Delivery enterprises were required to concentrate on three priorities. First, they must raise their level of commitment, clearly understand the situation, and resolutely shoulder the primary responsibility for environmental protection. Second, they must focus on goals, pursue reform and innovation, and advance green development through new technology applications and innovative models. Third, they must keep to deadlines, refine measures, implement responsibilities across all parties, and sharpen concrete actions in line with the required task completion timetable.

Relevant heads of provincial-level headquarters from each major-brand delivery enterprise attended the meeting.
