Shanying International to Raise Packaging Paper by Up to RMB200/Tonne on Oct 16; Board Makers Join Fifth Round

Nine Dragons set the stage with a single notice covering two increases, scheduling a fresh round for October 16; Shanying then followed by announcing another RMB100-200/tonne hike, launching the fifth round since Mid-Autumn Festival. The second half of October now looks set for another intense spell of price moves across the paper sector.

Starting October 16, Shanying will raise prices again by RMB100-200/tonne

On October 13, Shanying International issued another price-increase letter covering packaging paper. According to the notice:

Bulk material prices have climbed sharply: coal has surged above RMB2,000/tonne and production could be halted at any time if coal runs short. Domestic recovered paper and chemical auxiliaries are also still rising, driving production costs up substantially. Although the company has worked to unlock capacity and lift efficiency, it still cannot fully absorb the cost pressure. From October 16, Zishan, Yinshan, Hongshan, T paper and high-strength corrugated paper will increase by RMB200, while Jingui and Sijigui will rise by RMB100.

With upstream raw materials skyrocketing, paperboard producers have begun a fifth wave of increases

Suzhou Dirsen Packaging Materials Co., Ltd.:

Because of recent power rationing and soaring upstream raw material prices, the company's production costs have faced excessive pressure. From October 12, all product prices will increase by 30%.

Fuyang Tianliren New Material Packaging Technology Co., Ltd.:

With domestic base paper prices continuing to surge, the company's costs have risen rapidly. From October 8, paperboard prices will increase by 6%.

Bozhou Xinxinghua Packaging Co., Ltd.:

As base paper prices have kept rising recently, the company's production costs have increased sharply. From October 9, all newly accepted orders will follow the latest prices.

Anhui Guangyihui Intelligent Packaging Co., Ltd.:

Base paper prices have risen continuously, causing a significant cost increase. From October 12, the company will raise product prices.

Jiangsu Hongkai Packaging Co., Ltd.:

Recent base paper price rises have continued and supply remains tight. From October 12, the company will raise paperboard prices.

Xuzhou Xinhang Packaging Products Co., Ltd.:

Base paper prices have continued to surge recently, pushing up procurement costs. From October 12, prices for accepted orders will increase.

Xuzhou Jinniu Packaging Products Co., Ltd.:

With raw and auxiliary material prices continuing to rise recently, production costs keep climbing. From October 12, all paperboard prices will be raised again.

Hebi Xinpu Paper Co., Ltd.:

Base paper prices keep rising, leaving the company's production and procurement costs under heavy strain. On October 12, paperboard prices will increase by RMB0.03-0.06 per square meter.

Zhejiang Daqun Packaging Co., Ltd.:

With paper mills raising prices aggressively every day and the upward trend continuing, the company has no choice but to pass on base paper increases. From October 12, paperboard prices will rise by RMB0.03-0.1 per square meter.

Taizhou Guangming Packaging Technology Co., Ltd.:

From October 12, paperboard prices will increase.

Nanning Jinmei Printing and Packaging Co., Ltd.:

From October 12, paperboard prices will increase.

Zhangzhou Dinglongtai Paper Products Co., Ltd.:

As base paper raw material prices have continued to rise recently, the company can no longer absorb the resulting operational pressure. From October 12, paperboard prices will increase by 5%.

Wuhan Longfa Packaging Co., Ltd.:

Because base paper prices have continued to rise sharply, the company's cost pressure has become unbearable. From October 12, paperboard prices will increase by 5%.

Linyi Jinghua Packaging Co., Ltd.:

From October 13, 2021, paperboard prices will increase. For specific prices, please contact the company's business managers and back-office staff.

Ruibaoyuan Paperboard Co., Ltd.:
