From Detergent to Shampoo: Why Liquid Packaging Pouches Are Taking Over from Glass Bottles
Laundry detergent, fabric softener, shampoo and cleaning agents are the core liquid products that liquid packaging pouches are built to handle. Swap in a different spout and the same pouch construction covers that entire range — which is the foundation for the format's wide acceptance.
First, the mechanical strength of the pouch body, its heat-seal behaviour and the firmness of the closure all sit at a high level. Both manual and automatic filling and sealing are workable, and on a filling line the pouch resists tearing when it is pulled under tension.
Second, barrier performance stands out: moisture protection, waterproofing and strong airtightness, alongside aroma retention, good oxygen resistance and puncture resistance, so the contents hold their quality for longer.
Third, the pouch withstands pressure and drops. It neither ruptures easily nor leaks, and it can serve as a replacement for glass bottles, cutting cost — which is why it is a flexible packaging format now popular internationally.
Fourth, protection is strong: the packed contents are shielded from bacteria and insects, the pouch shape holds steady in both high and low temperatures, and deformation during transport or storage is unlikely.
Looking at the finished bag, heat-seal strength is high, and it again survives pressure and drop testing without rupturing or leaking. Replacing bottles with it lowers cost and lifts a product's competitiveness in the market. Adding a spout tightens the seal further and makes storage easier, and manual as well as automatic filling and sealing both apply.
Those characteristics also define where the format fits: any liquid product that needs moisture protection, drop resistance and a lower packaging cost is a candidate. On a filling line, whether the bag type and the spout match matters just as much, so selection is best confirmed together with the filling equipment. For a product that must stay protected from moisture while keeping packaging cost under control, this is a route worth evaluating.
