Foshan Gaoming Kicks Off 14 Major Projects in Q2, Including Dongda Packaging's RMB 250 Million Corrugated Carton Plant

Fourteen major projects entered construction in Foshan's Gaoming District during the second quarter, representing a combined investment of about RMB 4.92 billion and RMB 1.007 billion of planned spending for the year, with the Gaohe Wharf project at the Gaoming port area of Foshan Port among them.

Split by sector, the seven industrial projects launched in Gaoming during the quarter come to RMB 1.601 billion in total investment and RMB 555 million in planned annual investment; the six infrastructure projects account for roughly RMB 3.192 billion and RMB 372 million respectively; and one livelihood project involves about RMB 124 million in total investment and RMB 80 million of planned annual investment.

The industrial line-up spans the Lihe project, budgeted at RMB 500 million with an annual output of 100,000 tons of stainless steel products; the Ruipeng Materials industrial resin products manufacturing project at RMB 180 million; the Yatai Copper copper alloy production and manufacturing project at RMB 120 million; and the Hanrun Zhiguang Technology lighting fixtures and accessories manufacturing project at RMB 300 million,

the Dongda Packaging corrugated carton production and manufacturing project at RMB 250 million

, and the Zhenneng auto parts production and manufacturing project at RMB 100 million.

At the Huaxing Glass green and intelligent glass bottle and mold manufacturing project, which broke ground in the first quarter of this year, machinery has already been brought on site and pile foundation construction is under way. With this expansion in place, the Foshan Gaoming Branch of Huaxing Glass Co., Ltd. will see its annual capacity reach 950,000 tons, making it the world's largest single production base for daily-use glass bottles and jars.

Since the start of this year, the major projects launched in concentrated fashion, including the Huaxing Glass green and intelligent glass bottle and mold manufacturing project in Gaoming District, have generally advanced on schedule. Figures show that Gaoming planned and implemented 108 key projects in 2021; as of May, 43.95% of the annual investment task had been completed, and 87 of the 93 formal projects had started construction — a start rate of 93.55%.

Within that total, 29 provincial key projects have absorbed RMB 3.426 billion, or 44.18% of the annual investment task, serving as the main engine behind the growth in investment progress. At present, base slab pouring is under way at the data centre of the Runze International Information Port project (Phase I);

the Phase I factory building of the Meiyingsen smart packaging industrial project is finished, with equipment installation and trial production proceeding in parallel;

and the Guangdong Datang International cogeneration project has completed base pouring for gas turbine islands No. 1 and No. 2 as well as hoisting of the waste heat boiler steel frame.
