China Logistics Group Is Formed: How Will the New Central SOE Affect Logistics Packaging and Supply Chains?

The logistics industry's long-awaited “national team” has now stepped into the spotlight.

This new force comes from the logistics sector.

Its creation was approved by the State Council.

It is a new central state-owned enterprise whose main business is integrated logistics.

China Logistics Group Co., Ltd. has therefore been formally established.

The new group is formed by integrating the former China Railway Materials Group Co., Ltd. with China Materials Storage and Transportation Group Co., Ltd., CTS International Logistics Corporation Limited, China Logistics Co., Ltd., and China Packaging Co., Ltd. from the logistics segment of China Chengtong Holdings Group Co., Ltd. At the same time, three strategic investors have been introduced: China Eastern Air Holding Company Limited, China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited, and China Merchants Group Limited.

From an industrial perspective, packaging closes the production process and opens the logistics process, creating a safe link between products and logistics. As coordinated development of industrial chains and supply chains becomes a guiding strategy, logistics packaging plays an even more important safety role in manufacturing and transportation.

China Packaging Co., Ltd. will continue to build on its strengths in packaging technology R&D, scientific research and testing, standards setting, and green certification, while making full use of Zhongbao brand resources to lead industry progress.

Industry observers say the formation of China Logistics Group will have a leading effect on optimizing packaging structures, promoting green packaging, and accelerating consolidation in the logistics packaging market.
