Alcoa Warrick Plant Starts Up Lithographic Printing Cleaning Line, Adding 50 Jobs and $57 Million in Tax Revenue

Published:2026-10-03 · Industry News

The new lithographic printing cleaning line at Alcoa's Warrick plant has officially begun production. The project is set to provide 50 jobs in the region and deliver US$57 million in tax revenue, while also laying a foundation for the plant's diversification.

Ann Whitty, vice president and general manager of Alcoa's Rigid Packaging Division, said the investment will strengthen the Warrick plant's foundations, support the company's diversification and make better use of existing assets. She added that Alcoa's continued investment in the Warrick plant is intended to create a better future for the company, its employees, its customers and society.

Construction of the line began in early 2007, with equipment and construction costing US$47 million. The line is primarily used to process lithographic aluminium sheet, which serves printed products such as magazines, periodicals, brochures and newspaper inserts. Alcoa's printing customers include Kodak, Fuji, Agfa and Anocoil, among others. The line has now started production.

Founded in 1888, Aluminum Company of America (ALCOA) is recognized as a major aluminium company, with more than 400 operating locations in 36 countries and regions and 127,000 employees. In 2002, Alcoa's annual sales revenue exceeded US$20 billion, ranking 88th in Fortune magazine's top 100 U.S. enterprises and 205th among the top 500 enterprises. Alcoa's headquarters and main research and development center are both located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. The company produces and sells everything from aluminium raw materials to various primary aluminium products, semi-finished products and aluminium products.

Alcoa established a permanent representative office in Beijing, China, in September 1993 and has since built five joint ventures or wholly owned enterprises in China, mainly producing aluminium foil products. Their capacity accounts for about 25-30% of China's aluminium foil product market. Alcoa is already a major importer of and trading partner for aluminium products in China, as well as a major foreign investor in China's aluminium industry.
