2019 China International Printing Cultural and Creative Industry Exhibition: Printing and Packaging Transformation Meets Cultural Creativity

Published:2026-10-03 · Industry News

Scheduled for September 4-6, 2019, the China International Printing Cultural and Creative Industry Exhibition will take place at China International Exhibition Center (Jing'anzhuang Hall), East Beisanhuan Road, Chaoyang District, Beijing. Listed organizers and supporting bodies include the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, China International Exhibition Center Group Corporation, Shanghai Yinsou Culture Media Co., Ltd., Beijing Huagang Exhibition Co., Ltd., Huagang Exhibition (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Yinsou Culture Media Co., Ltd. and the Printing and Printing Equipment Industries Association of China.

The exhibition was jointly founded by Shanghai Yinsou Culture Media Co., Ltd. and China International Exhibition Center Group Corporation. In April 2017, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism officially released China's cultural industry development plan for the 13th Five-Year Plan period. The event was created in response to the national drive to make the cultural industry a pillar of the national economy and to regional support for cultural and creative industries, with the aim of opening new models, new formats and new opportunities for the printing and packaging industry.

As China's first professional printing cultural and creative exhibition, it places printing and packaging cultural and creative products at the center of the exhibit profile and treats cultural and creative end customers as the main visitors and buyers.

Market momentum supports the concept. While the traditional printing sector has weakened, the cultural and creative industry has advanced rapidly in recent years. The report to the 19th National Congress mentioned 'culture' 80 times and stated that 'culture is the soul of a country and a nation' and that 'without a thriving culture, there will be no great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.' In 2017, the added value of China's culture and related cultural industries reached 3.5462 trillion yuan, equal to 4.29% of GDP. In Q1 2018, cultural and related cultural industry enterprises above designated size generated operating revenue of 1.9052 trillion yuan, up 10.5% year on year. As 2019 marked the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China, cultural celebration and communication activities were expected to further drive the cultural and creative sector.

Demand is shifting across tourism souvenirs, festival and celebration products, ceremonial gifts, corporate image promotional items and product IP images. Consumers increasingly expect creativity, environmental responsibility, cost-effective simplicity, cultural communication and reusable or retainable value. The 2019 China International Cultural and Creative Exhibition is positioned to bring new commercial exposure and distinctive creativity to many industries. Representatives from sectors such as retail, department stores, hotels, tourist attractions and gift companies, as well as food and beverage, advertising, e-commerce and sports and entertainment, will be invited to visit.

On the policy side, environmental rules, fixed costs and global trade disputes are making transformation and upgrading urgent for traditional printing and packaging companies. Unlike some places where printing development faces restrictions, most Chinese cities treat cultural and creative industries as priority supported sectors. Driven by favorable policy and social demand, many traditional printing and packaging enterprises are pursuing transformation, industrial integration and cross-sector cooperation. They combine printing processes with carriers such as paper, plastic, wood, cloth, ceramics, glass and metal to develop cultural and creative products; some have already become new-format cultural enterprises.

Why attend the 2019 China International Printing Cultural and Creative Industry Exhibition? Since 2017, environmental inspections have become stricter, affecting enterprises in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, the Bohai Rim, Northeast China, the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta, and accelerating printing and packaging transformation. Some regions once classified printing as a key pollution-supervision industry, making it difficult for many companies to shed that label. Changes in the international economy, rising trade protectionism and trade frictions have also pressured China's traditional manufacturing sector and are expected to push 90% of domestic supporting printing and packaging enterprises toward product upgrading. Beijing, the capital and core of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, combines political, economic, cultural, sports and financial strengths and is a city rich in Chinese civilization. The first edition chose Beijing for its strong international and domestic cultural influence and reach, helping ensure exhibition quality and stature.

The organizers bring complementary strengths. CIEC Group has more than 30 years of international exhibition organizing experience and covers hall leasing, exhibition organizing, exhibition engineering and exhibit transport. Its well-known printing and packaging shows include China Beijing International Printing Technology Exhibition (CHINA PRINT), China (Guangdong) International Printing Technology Exhibition (PRINT CHINA) and Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair (HKPP). Shanghai Yinsou Culture Media is a recognized industry media and promotion service provider, known for its Chinese Printing and Packaging Network. CIEC Group is directly under the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and has grown into a group active in hall operation, domestic exhibition organizing, overseas exhibition participation, exhibition engineering, transport and advertising. It is chairman unit of the China Chamber of International Commerce, chairman unit of the CCOIC Exhibition Committee, chairman unit of the China Association of Exhibition Halls, and the first Chinese member of UFI and IAEE. Its printing and packaging-related shows also include China International Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Exhibition. Shanghai Yinsou Culture Media operates four platforms: Chinese Printing and Packaging Network, the co-organized China International Printing Cultural and Creative Industry Exhibition, Printing Sosou APP and a cultural and creative mall.

The organizers will focus on inviting buyers from cultural tourism, retail services, performing arts and entertainment, animation and games, creative design, arts and crafts, cultural exhibitions, e-commerce, gifts and crafts, financial services, toys and apparel, and manufacturing. They will launch buyer sponsorship and event policies covering gifts, hotel and air tickets, transport services and more to help ensure buyer quality and volume. They will also work with exhibitors on buyer invitations and precisely target required industries, while mobilizing provincial tourism and cultural resources under the guidance of the National Press and Publication Administration and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to attract strong buyers and seek national policy support. The exhibition is one of the branded events that CIEC Group is building as a key project, supported by more than 1 million industry data records covering enterprises across sectors. Yinsou Media contributes 70,000+ resources from Woyaoin terminals and support from Printing Sosou's 100-city sub-stations, local industry associations and enterprises. Media support includes 150+ mass and industry media outlets using websites, Enews, WeChat, SMS, direct mail and ground promotion for brand promotion and visitor invitation. The event launched its release ceremony in 2018 and was to begin large-scale global promotion and buyer invitation from October 2018. Concurrent activities include the 2018-2019 Second Cultural and Creative Competition award ceremony, award dinner, 2019 Digital Printing in China Summit, 3D Printing Development and Application Forum and various cultural and creative industry seminars. Exhibit zones and product categories cover creative cultural products (printing cultural and creative products, packaging cultural and creative products, paper cultural and creative products, digital printing cultural and creative products, 3D printing cultural and creative products, 3D printing cultural and creative products, cultural and creative books and periodicals, cultural and creative gifts and crafts, and other creative products), art collection cultural and creative products (art reproduction printing, calligraphy and painting cultural and creative products, intangible cultural heritage crafts, cultural relic and antique reproduction products and technologies, Thangka printing products, etc.), as well as packaging processing equipment, digital printing equipment, 3D printing equipment and post-press finishing equipment.
